New Contest Alert!

Hello everyone, this is =The-LegendaryExtreme filling in for ~tgness while she's er.. on her maternity leave. XD
I have taken it upon myself to re-establish ourselves in the world of dA and bring back our former glory as Showgirls/boys!! So to do this, we are holding a contest--with prizes, of course!

Let's break it down, shall we?

THE CONTEST:

Design a ShowGirl (or ShowBoy) in an outfit that's suitable for the season--this current season being summer. (And for those of you who are living on the opposite side of the planet where it is Winter now, just play along. We will be holding this same contest during every season, so feel free to get a head start for Fall, Winter or Spring if you feel so inclined--just don't submit it until it's time.) It can be any visual medium, from emoticon to painting to 3D render. The more the merrier, I always say, so multiple entries are also welcome. As submissions roll in, we'll add them to the ShowGirls gallery for glorification.

The character you design will also become the official ShowGirls spokeswoman (or man) for the season.

THE PRIZES:

First Place - a one year sub OR one (1) print of equal value. Also, you'll get the fame and recognition of designing one kickass costume.

Second Place - two three month subs OR one (1) print of equal value.

Third Place - a one month sub OR one (1) postcard of equal value.

Alrighty everyone, =The-LegendaryExtreme here (again). I am writing this on behalf of our chatroom #ShowGirls.

For those of you who are wondering, our chatroom is still up and running. The only thing missing is you! So here's what we're gonna do:

As most of you know, devART's 6th birthday is TODAY and there will be a massive party in #devart as well as most other chatrooms. I was there last year and there were contests galore with real prizes and everyone had a great time. So, to commemorate this glorious occasion, we will hold our own party all night long on dA's birthday in #Showgirls! Not only will you get to chat with tons of great people, you'll also have chances to win random prizes!

One of the things I was thinking might be fun kind of goes along with with =FireDolphin's idea is for everyone to do their own showgirl!

So! Everyone do a sort of ID .. each showgirl come up with a showgirl to put on the group! It can be as detailed as you'd like! Stats, name, age .. favorite ice cream .. all that happy stuff!

Okay. We're having a few problems with reading comprehension here, folks.

Q. What is *showgirls?
ShowGirls is something conceived by =The-LegendaryExtreme and myself, realized by =rinigrl, *eskabar, ~Reika-Chan, and =madnessism. It's just a fun thing where we can have a blast while doing our thing here at dA.

Q. How do I join?
Watch the club, then note us here at *showgirls with the subject "I'm a SHOWGIRL". Comments will be ignored from now on. Notes requesting membership from deviants who have not watched the club will also be ignored from this point on.

Please keep personal information to yourself. We really don't base membership on how many guys you've done, or how many wet t-shirt contests you've gotten second place in; in fact, we really don't base membership on anything at all besides whether or not you've watched the club and noted. The aforementioned are NOT reasons why you're a ShowGirl and frankly is a little too much information. If you need a reminder on what exactly a ShowGirl is, then head over to dictionary.com

If per chance you stop watching the club, you will be removed from the list and demoted in the chat.

Q. Do you guys really strip?

Hey everyone! Well, it is I, =The-LegendaryExtreme, your new chat goddess (or.. something)! Just thought I'd make my introdruction now that I'm officially official.

So, here's the deal! #ShowGirls is in full force nowadays and you can find me in there regularly, chatting it up with the handsome showboys. I am also now in charge of #ShowGirls bAsh, our monthly-ish update which includes funny stuff that is said in #ShowGirls. So get your cute arses in there and make me laugh! And if you happen to stumble upon someone being funny and I am NOT available, note me with the quote and I'll add it if I think it is worthy.

And that goes for basically all of the unofficial chat rooms on dAmn. Trust me, it is not a good way to introduce yourself if all you do is bug people. If you have a question pertaining to basically anything other than ShowGirls, you should really refer to the FAQs. That's what they are there for, after all.
